About Us

Mass Spring was founded in 2023 to launch the Better Worcester campaign to engage Worcester residents in taking action for a more democratic, more affordable city for working families through civic participation and holding local government accountable.

Mass Spring is a 501(c)4 non-profit organization.

Tom Marino

Tom is a journalist and the owner and publisher of This Week in Worcester, a local, independent digital news source in Worcester. He is a long-time entrepreneur in areas such as sports entertainment, logistics, and talent acquisition and a life-long central Massachusetts resident

Brian Mulhearn

Brian Mulhearn is an experienced community and political organizer in Worcester. He has volunteered and worked on several campaigns, including the Fair Share Amendment/Yes on 1 campaign as the North Central Massachusetts regional field organizer.

Martin Omasta

Martin is a former Army Captain who has led businesses that include collateral loans, paintball fields and vehicle maintenance. Martin is treasurer of the Franklin County Community Land Trust, building a regional housing ecosystem in Western Massachusetts.
